Services

Everything we sell is baked on the premises the same morning. The list below is what you will usually find on the counter, what you can order ahead, and what we do beyond the shop.

Daily bread

  • Country sourdough, white and wholemeal
  • Seeded rye, dense and sliced thin
  • Baguettes, in two bakes: 7:00 and 11:00
  • Focaccia with rosemary and sea salt, Fridays and Saturdays

Pastry

Butter croissants, pain au chocolat, almond croissants on weekends, and cinnamon knots that Priya refuses to call buns. The pastry case changes with the season: rhubarb in spring, stone fruit in summer, apple and pear through the autumn.

Celebration cakes

We make a small number of layer cakes each week to order. Please give us at least 72 hours’ notice, and a week for anything over twelve portions. We are not a wedding-cake bakery and we will tell you honestly if a design is beyond us.

Wholesale

Three cafés and one restaurant on the street take our bread every morning. We have room for two more wholesale customers within walking distance; we deliver by bicycle, so the walking distance is not a figure of speech.

Baking classes

On the first and third Saturday of each month we run a three-hour sourdough class for eight people. You leave with a loaf, a jar of our starter and a printed method. Classes are usually booked a month ahead.
